A kitten walking over me and minding his business

Since 2013, I’ve been a Directeur de Recherche at the CNRS, based at the Université de Rennes. Before landing here, I bounced around a bit: I started in Bonn (undergrad, PhD, and Wissenschaftlicher Assistent from 1993 to 2004), then moved to Toulouse as a Chargé de Recherche at the CNRS (2004–2005). After that, I crossed the Atlantic—first to Chicago (Assistant Professor, 2005–2007), then Michigan (Assistant Professor, 2007–2011), and finally Vancouver (Associate Professor, 2011–2013). And then I crossed it back.

While in North America, I picked up the usual grants (NSF, Sloan, CAREER, NSERC), but I’ve never won any price or did anything too remarkable in life. If you’re still curious, feel free to play with the links.
